Ben Affleck’s best-known Dunkin’ commercials trace three connected campaigns: a 2023 Super Bowl drive-through cameo, the 2024 “Popstar” and “The DunKings” story, and 2025’s “DunKings 2: The Movie.” Dunkin’ presented the installments as part of its “Dunkin’ Cinematic Universe,” with teasers and longer extensions alongside the major ads.

2023: Affleck works the Dunkin’ drive-through
Dunkin’ called “Drive-Thru” its first-ever Super Bowl commercial when it released the ad on February 12, 2023. It aired during Super Bowl LVII and places Affleck in a Dunkin’ uniform serving real customers at a Medford, Massachusetts restaurant. Jennifer Lopez makes a surprise appearance at the drive-through and tells him, “Grab me a glazed!” The joke plays on Affleck’s public association with Dunkin’.

2024: “Popstar” leads into “The DunKings”
“Popstar” starts the story at the Grammys
The 2024 campaign began with “Popstar,” which debuted during the 66th Grammy Awards. It turns Affleck’s viral Grammy reaction into a comic origin story about his aspiring music career, with Charli D’Amelio helping him prepare.

“The DunKings” brings the band to the Super Bowl
The story culminated at Super Bowl LVIII with Affleck arriving at Lopez’s recording session alongside his boy-band entourage: Matt Damon and Tom Brady, dressed in Dunkin’ tracksuits. They perform “Don’t Dunk Away at My Heart.” Lopez and Fat Joe react to the performance, while Jack Harlow had warned Affleck against the plan.
The campaign also introduced a limited-time DunKings menu, including an iced coffee with vanilla notes, cream, Sweet Cold Foam, and cinnamon sugar, as well as a MUNCHKINS skewer. Dunkin’ said 40-ounce stainless steel tumblers and DunKings tracksuits were among the limited-edition merchandise offered in 2024. Those were historical campaign items; the release does not establish that they remain in stock.

Dunkin’s official 2024 campaign release
2025: “DunKings 2: The Movie” expands the rivalry
Dunkin’s February 9, 2025 release describes a multi-part campaign culminating in the Super Bowl spot and an expanded short film, “DunKings 2: The Movie.” The story centers on a coffee-band competition at “Java Jam.” Affleck rallies Casey Affleck, Bill Belichick, and Jeremy Strong as the DunKings try to defend their crown. Strong’s character invokes Paul Revere, leading into the declaration, “America Runneth on Dunkin’!” The expanded film also includes rival groups and Donnie Wahlberg.
The 2025 campaign had a time-limited merchandise collection that included clothing and tumblers. Dunkin’s launch release also described a $6 meal deal and a $3 medium Shakin’ Espresso offer, subject to terms and participation limits. These were offers at launch, not evidence of current promotions.

The ads build their comedy around Affleck’s Dunkin’ association and celebrity cameos, but the format and premise change from year to year: a real-world drive-through gag becomes a fictional music career, then a continuing band rivalry. Dunkin’ Chief Marketing Officer Jill McVicar Nelson described the campaign’s intended tone as “great coffee, fast—plain and simple.”
Dunkin’ calls the sequence a “Dunkin’ Cinematic Universe,” but its campaign releases do not establish a complete count of every commercial or related clip. The three chapters above cover the best-known installments documented through February 2025.
