What does Short n’ Sweet mean?
Carpenter explained the title in an Apple Music interview with Zane Lowe. She said some relationships she had considered were the shortest she had experienced, yet affected her the most. Her explanation gives the title a personal relationship context rather than suggesting a literal description of the album’s length.
She also described the album’s perspective as sometimes nice and sometimes not, with humor coming through when a situation reaches a breaking point. “A lot of what I really love about this album is the accountability,” she told Lowe. These are Carpenter’s comments about the album’s outlook; they do not prescribe a single interpretation of each song. Read the Apple Music interview and album page.
