The first version added 15 songs to the original 23, making 38 tracks. Apple Music also lists a 42-track edition, so the total depends on which listing or edition you mean.
What is SOS Deluxe: LANA?
LANA is a deluxe expansion of SZA’s SOS, not a separate album unrelated to it. Sony Music Japan’s December 23, 2024 announcement describes the December 20 release as the deluxe edition and says it adds 15 new songs. The FADER likewise reported that the initial package paired the original 23 tracks with 15 additions.
Apple Music’s US listing for that 38-song edition gives a total runtime of 1 hour 54 minutes and credits the release to ℗ 2024 Top Dawg Entertainment, under exclusive license to RCA Records. Apple Music’s 38-track listing identifies December 20, 2024 as the release date.
Why do listings show 38 or 42 songs?
The 38-track count describes the initial expanded version: 23 original SOS tracks plus 15 additions. A separate US Apple Music listing shows 42 songs and a runtime of 2 hours 4 minutes. Sony Music Taiwan’s listing names four more tracks—“PSA,” “Joni” featuring Don Toliver, “Take You Down,” and a solo version of “Open Arms”—which accounts for the difference described in the available listings.

These are distinct listed editions, not a reason to treat 38 and 42 as interchangeable totals. Apple Music displays both versions under “Other Versions”; platform metadata and availability can vary by territory. Check the track list on the service or release you are using if the exact edition matters. Apple Music’s 38-track edition and its 42-track listing show the separate totals.
