SDCC Friday cosplay photos: anime, manga and superheroes
KPBS’s Friday photo coverage names a group of attendees dressed as characters from Demon Slayer, One Piece and Spider-Man. From left to right, its caption identifies Calissa Katashima as Shinobu Kocho, Phoenix Ortiz as Portgas D. Ace, Carter and Jimmy Ortiz as Luffy, and Kai Truong as Spider-Man. The lineup stands out for bringing several recognizable characters and franchises together in one frame.
KPBS also photographed human versions of My Little Pony. That playful interpretation broadens the gallery beyond costumes aiming for a close character likeness.
Game, fantasy and film-inspired looks
A separate Friday gallery from TMZ describes a different selection of costumes: Lilith from Diablo 4, Orin the Red, Elphaba from Wicked, Professor Garlick from Harry Potter, Springtrap from Five Nights at Freddy’s, and a fem Captain America look. Its other examples include Spock and Kruge from Star Trek III: The Search for Spock, plus Mario and Luigi.

Fallout, fantasy and original pairings in the KPBS gallery
KPBS’s other Friday captions identify Paul Ponce and Patricia Bastian as characters from the Fallout television series. The gallery also features Maria Egger as a mermaid alongside Tony L. Le as a pirate—a coordinated fantasy pairing rather than a look tied to one named franchise in the caption.

What cosplay was at Comic-Con on Friday?
The photo galleries document a mix of anime and manga characters, superheroes, video-game and television figures, fantasy interpretations, and paired or group costumes. They are selected photo coverage, not a census of the convention floor, so the examples here show some of Friday’s variety rather than all of it.
