Ben Atkinson: Rowan Atkinson’s eldest child
Ben, also referred to as Benjamin, is Rowan Atkinson and Sunetra Sastry’s son. A family profile reports that he was born on 9 September 1993, attended the University of Exeter and trained at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. It describes him as an officer who served with the Royal Gurkha Rifles and recounts early service experiences in Brunei, New Zealand, Nepal and Thailand. KidsCo’s family profile presents these as biographical and historical details, not a current service update. His present rank, assignment and posting are not verified by the reviewed coverage.
Lily Sastry: music and visual art
Lily was born Lily Atkinson and is now publicly known as Lily Sastry. Profiles report that she releases music under the name Lili Sastry and has pursued singing, songwriting, cabaret performance and visual art. The South China Morning Post’s 2025 profile also describes her as a singer and visual artist. These public names and descriptions do not establish why she uses Sastry professionally, nor do they provide a reliable account of her current schedule or full catalogue.

Isla Atkinson: what is publicly known
Rowan Atkinson and Louise Ford’s daughter Isla was reported born in December 2017. The exact date of her birth and further personal details are not established in the reviewed profiles. She is a minor, and her parents do not discuss her extensively in interviews; her schooling, home life and routines are not appropriate subjects for speculation.
How Atkinson’s family grew
Atkinson married make-up artist Sunetra Sastry in 1990. Biographical coverage reports that they had two children, Ben and Lily, and divorced in late 2015. Atkinson later had Isla with Louise Ford in 2017. The cited coverage describes Ford as his partner, not as his wife. Biography.com summarizes the family timeline; a Kuwait Times report from November 2015 covered the divorce and identified the older children.

Atkinson has described a deliberate separation between public work and private life. In a profile for the London Evening Standard, he said: “I firmly believe in drawing the dividing line between work and private life.” That boundary helps explain why public information about his children is uneven: adult children have some reported professional biographies, while little is shared about Isla.
