In April 2023, Australian claimant Simon Dorante-Day said his next legal bid would seek DNA tests from Princes William and Harry, adding them to his longstanding requests for tests from King Charles and Camilla. The reports documented his stated plan—not an agreed or completed test, a court order, or proof of his claim that Charles and Camilla are his biological parents.
What DNA tests did Simon Dorante-Day say he wanted?
In a report published April 25, 2023, PerthNow said Dorante-Day planned to include William and Harry in his next legal effort. He had sought tests from Charles and Camilla for years, according to the report. In a same-day 7NEWS interview, he said, “Compelling DNA paternity tests from William and Harry has always been part of the overall plan.” (PerthNow, April 25, 2023; 7NEWS, April 25, 2023)
The proposal was part of Dorante-Day’s effort to establish his paternity allegation. Neither report said the princes had agreed to provide samples or that a test had been ordered or carried out.
Did William and Harry agree to a DNA test?
The April 2023 reports do not document an agreement. Dorante-Day expected resistance. PerthNow quoted him saying, “I think they’ll (William and Harry) be just as resistant as Charles and Camilla.” The report also attributed to him the view that the princes were not legally obliged to agree and could not be forced. That was his characterization, not an independent legal ruling in the coverage.

7NEWS said it had contacted representatives for the princes; its report did not record a response confirming agreement to testing. The available reports therefore support saying that Dorante-Day proposed tests and anticipated resistance, not that William or Harry accepted or refused a test.
What is Dorante-Day’s claim, and what reasons did he give?
Dorante-Day says Charles and Camilla are his biological parents. The cited coverage presents this as his allegation, not verified parentage. In explaining his position, he has referred to what he says his adoptive grandmother told him, his interpretation of his birth and adoption history, his account of Charles and Camilla’s history, and perceived physical resemblances. Those are his accounts and arguments; the reports do not independently establish them.

The coverage also records challenges to parts of his account. PerthNow reported that a historian disputed a detail concerning the hospital named in a birth record. The Nightly later said it found no evidence that Dorante-Day’s adopted grandmother worked for the royal family, and explicitly described the paternity claims as unproven. Such disputes do not establish who his biological parents are.
