How Rihanna revealed the pregnancy
Before the gala, Rihanna was photographed leaving New York’s Carlyle Hotel in a Miu Miu dress with her bump visible, according to British Vogue. Later that evening, she arrived at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute benefit gala as its final red-carpet arrival.
Rocky confirmed the news to reporters at the event. Asked how he felt, he said, “It feels amazing, you know,” and added, “It’s time that we show the people what we was cooking up,” as quoted by The Associated Press. Their two older children, sons RZA and Riot Rose, were noted in contemporaneous coverage by ABC News.
Rihanna’s Marc Jacobs look
For the carpet, Rihanna wore a Marc Jacobs ensemble featuring a black cropped wool jacket, wool bustier bodysuit, and black pinstripe tailored skirt with a bustle. A polka-dot satin cravat and ankle-chain pumps completed the look. The hat was created by Marc Jacobs in collaboration with milliner Stephen Jones, according to British Vogue. The Associated Press also described the bustle formed by the tied sleeves of a men’s suit behind her.

Why the 2025 Met Gala theme mattered
The gala’s dress code was “Tailored for You,” inspired by Black dandyism and the Costume Institute exhibition “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” as reported by The Associated Press. Before the event began, The Associated Press reported that the 2025 Met Gala had raised $31 million. That was a contemporaneous pre-event figure, not a final audited total, according to AP’s event report.
