Blindsided (2004)
Cohen’s memoir, Blindsided: Lifting a Life Above Illness: A Reluctant Memoir, draws on his own experience of illness and family. In a 2018 Today interview quoted by CBS News, he recalled being told after his diagnosis at 25 that “there is no hope.” His words describe what he encountered at the time, not current medical guidance.
Strong at the Broken Places (2008)
His later book, Strong at the Broken Places: Voices of Illness, a Chorus of Hope, shifted the focus to other people living with chronic diseases, according to Israel News Online’s obituary account. Together, the books show two sides of Cohen’s writing: a personal account of illness and a broader portrait of people facing it.
