Drummond became a grandmother on December 19, 2024, when Alex and Mauricio welcomed Sofia. In her announcement on The Pioneer Woman, Drummond captured the news simply: “My daughter just had a daughter.” ABC News also reported Sofia’s arrival that day.

On September 16, she announced Charlie’s arrival and wrote, “The Scott family is officially a family of four—and Ree is now a grandmother of two.” She said she stayed with Sofia in Dallas before the parents went to the hospital; Ladd joined them after finishing ranch work.
A family milestone in Drummond’s own words
In her 2024 announcement, Drummond wrote, “I’m honestly still trying to wrap my head (and heart) around it all.” The birth of Sofia marked her first experience as a grandmother; Charlie’s arrival made the Scott family four and brought her grandchild total to two.
