There is no confirmed announcement in the available reporting that Steve Irwin or a program featuring him will return to Australian television in 2026. Robert Irwin has had several television projects of his own, but those announcements do not confirm a new Steve Irwin program, an archive special or a repeat broadcast.
Will Steve Irwin be back on Australian TV this year?
As of October 8, 2026, the sources cited below do not establish that Steve Irwin footage or a program featuring him is scheduled to return to Australian screens this year. They identify no program title, broadcaster, or airtime for such a return. That is not proof that no broadcast has been announced elsewhere; it means the claim should not be treated as confirmed without a specific announcement from a broadcaster or rights holder.

What would confirm a Steve Irwin TV return?
A reliable announcement should identify the program or special, the Australian broadcaster or streaming service, and when it will be available. It should also make clear whether viewers will see new production, archival footage, or a repeat. Until those details are published by a broadcaster or rights holder, Robert Irwin’s television work and comments about his father’s legacy should not be presented as confirmation.
