Which Apple TV models support the Liquid Glass design?
Apple identifies Apple TV 4K (2nd generation and later) as eligible for the new design. The cited announcement does not establish that older Apple TV hardware qualifies, so check your model generation before expecting the Liquid Glass interface. Liquid Glass interface
Apple describes Liquid Glass as a translucent material that reflects and refracts its surroundings, changing with content and context. On Apple TV, the design is intended to keep video central while viewers use controls such as fast-forward and rewind, a sleep timer, audio adjustment or a “Movie night” scene in Control Center. These are Apple’s descriptions of its design intent, not independent usability findings. Profiles and app sign-in
Profiles can optionally appear automatically when Apple TV wakes, giving users quicker access to personal recommendations, the TV app Watchlist and Apple Music playlists. A separate developer API lets participating apps link their logins to an Apple Account during setup of a new device. Apple Music Sing
With Apple Music Sing, an iPhone can act as a handheld microphone, with voices amplified through the TV. Participants can also use their own iPhones to queue songs or respond with on-screen emoji. Apple additionally describes real-time lyrics, visual effects, Lyrics Translation and Pronunciation. The announcement does not specify a new iPhone requirement. Apple’s feature announcement
FaceTime and Live Captions
FaceTime adds Contact Posters, which display a caller’s customized photo and name. Live Captions expand to French, German, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin and Spanish.
