Red Dead Redemption is available through Netflix Games as a mobile game, not as a Netflix movie or series. You can download it on supported iOS or Android devices with an active Netflix membership; the package includes the main single-player game and Undead Nightmare, but no multiplayer.
Is Red Dead Redemption on Netflix?
Yes. Rockstar released Red Dead Redemption for iOS and Android through Netflix Games on December 2, 2025. Netflix’s guide says subscribers can download it to a mobile device and play without ads or in-app purchases. It is a game you install and play, not a film or series to stream.

The Netflix mobile release is separate from the game’s console editions. A console copy is not needed to play on a phone or tablet.
What does the Netflix version include?
The mobile package includes the complete single-player Red Dead Redemption story and Undead Nightmare, along with bonus content from the Game of the Year Edition. It does not include multiplayer, according to the U.S. Apple App Store listing.

The main story
Set in 1911, the story follows former outlaw John Marston as he tracks down members of his old gang after his family is kidnapped. The setting spans fictional versions of the American Southwest and Mexico. The game stands alone; you do not need to play Red Dead Revolver or Red Dead Redemption 2 first.
Undead Nightmare
This separate story expansion brings a zombie outbreak to the game’s world. It adds missions, a blunderbuss and the Four Horses of the Apocalypse.

What do you need to play on a phone or tablet?
You need an active Netflix membership and a supported mobile device. Netflix says the game has no ads or in-app purchases for subscribers. Membership terms and game availability may vary by region, so check Netflix in your country before downloading.
iPhone and iPad requirements
The U.S. App Store listing specifies iOS 18.0 or later for iPhone and iPadOS 18.0 or later for iPad, and lists these supported device generations:

Android requirements
Rockstar’s support page lists selected devices for graphics-mode options; that is not a complete minimum-compatibility list. Check the current Google Play listing on your own device to confirm whether the game is available and supported. The Android minimum requirements and regional availability are not established by the sources cited here.

How do mobile controls and graphics work?
Touchscreen play is supported. Rockstar documents three editable control-layout presets—Classic, Revolver and Cascade—and lets players move buttons, resize them and adjust their opacity. The game also offers Fidelity and Performance graphics modes on selected supported devices. Rockstar’s listed devices relate to graphics-mode support, not a comprehensive compatibility list. Is the Switch version required?
No. The Nintendo Switch edition is a separate console product, not part of Netflix access. Rockstar’s Switch 2 upgrade guidance discusses owners using a physical Nintendo Switch cartridge to obtain the upgrade. Choose that route if you want to play on a console; it is not a requirement for Netflix mobile play.
