Rebecca Ferguson has not named the co-star she says yelled at her on a film set. She recalled crying after the confrontation, then returning the next day and refusing to perform face-to-face with the person. In a later interview, she said the story was about what she learned—not identifying or exposing the co-star.
What Ferguson says happened on set
Appearing on the Reign with Josh Smith podcast in February 2024, Ferguson described working on an unnamed film with a co-star who, she said, was angry and insecure because scenes were not going well. She recalled that the person yelled at her in front of the crew and said, “You call yourself an actor?” Entertainment Tonight’s account of the interview and TheWrap’s contemporaneous report recount her remarks.
Ferguson said the co-star was number one on the call sheet, and she felt unsupported by the people around her. “I would cry walking off set,” she recalled. These are Ferguson’s recollections of the incident, not independently verified findings about the production.
How she says she responded
Ferguson said she returned the next day and told the co-star to get off her set. When producers said the person had to remain, she proposed acting while facing the back of the person’s head rather than performing face-to-face. Her account does not establish that the co-star was removed from the production. The Los Angeles Times reported on her account and the reactions it prompted.

She also said the director later acknowledged that the production had failed to look after everyone. That, too, is part of Ferguson’s account of what followed.
Who was the co-star?
Ferguson has not named the person. In the 2024 interview, she explicitly said it was not Hugh Jackman or Tom Cruise. In a 2026 interview reported by The Independent, she also ruled out Ryan Reynolds. Those exclusions do not identify anyone else. The Independent’s 6 February 2026 report covered her later clarification.

Ferguson’s story drew public speculation, but speculation, filmographies and other actors’ reactions are not evidence of the co-star’s identity. The Los Angeles Times reported that Dwayne Johnson expressed support and curiosity, and that Emily Blunt’s representative said the actresses were friends; neither response named the person.

In the later interview, Ferguson said, “It wasn’t about the person. It was about me.” She described the experience as something she learned from, and said she would now want to take the person aside privately. Her clarification shifts the focus from guessing who was involved to her account of speaking up and reflecting on how she might handle the situation now.

The Independent’s 27 February 2024 recap also covered her account at the time. Across her interviews, Ferguson has not identified the film or the co-star, so claims naming either go beyond what she has said.
