Rebecca Gayheart honored Eric Dane in two separate social media posts: a family video montage reported in March 2026 and a memorial image shared to her Instagram Story in early May. The first included the caption, “There are no words. All our love forever — your girls,” as reproduced by Parade.
What Rebecca Gayheart posted in March
On March 19, 2026, Parade reported that Gayheart had shared a video montage of Dane and their family around one month after his death. The outlet described a sequence of early relationship photographs, red-carpet images, family moments and footage of Dane speaking to his daughters.

Parade reproduced Gayheart’s caption: “There are no words. All our love forever — your girls.” The wording framed the tribute as a message from the family, rather than a statement about Dane’s career.
The separate memorial image shared in early May
In a report published May 8, 2026, Us Weekly described a later Instagram Story showing a memorial plaque surrounded by personal keepsakes and a pink flower. The plaque was transcribed as reading, “In Loving Memory of Eric William Dane. 1972-2026.” Us Weekly also reported that Lana Del Rey’s “Say Yes to Heaven” accompanied the image.

Us Weekly called it Wednesday, May 7, although May 7, 2026 was a Thursday; another report identified May 6. Because the original Story timestamp has not been independently confirmed, “early May” is the clearest supported timing.
How the two tributes differ
| Post | Timing reported | Reported contents |
|---|---|---|
| Video montage | March 2026; reported March 19 by Parade | Photos and family footage spanning the relationship and family life, with a caption from Gayheart. |
| Memorial Story | Early May 2026; reported May 8 by Us Weekly | A memorial plaque with keepsakes and a pink flower; the report said the Story used “Say Yes to Heaven.” |
These were distinct tributes shared at different times, not two descriptions of one post.

Context around Dane’s death and final message
Us Weekly reported that Dane’s family said he died on February 19, 2026, following ALS, at age 53. Separately, the Associated Press reported on February 20 that Netflix’s posthumous interview, Famous Last Words, included a message Dane addressed to his daughters: “I hope you won’t just listen to me. I hope you’ll hear me.” That interview is separate from Gayheart’s social media tributes.
