Mick Molloy recalled Shania Twain and Dylan Moran as difficult interview guests, while praising Sting and Jason Alexander. Those are Molloy’s personal recollections, shared on a 2023 podcast—not an objective ranking or an independent assessment of the celebrities.
Who Molloy named as difficult interview guests
Shania Twain
Speaking on the I’ve Got News For You podcast, Molloy described his interview with Twain as “horrific.” He said people accompanying her in the studio interrupted and objected to questions, including questions drawn from a press release. He was careful not to place all the blame on Twain: “I’m gonna be fair here, I don’t know whether it was entirely her or the three women who were in her corner sitting inside the studio while we were interviewing and just rolling their eyes.”
Molloy said the exchange was uncomfortable and that his team ended interviews they disliked quickly: “It was uncomfortable, it was awful, and when we do an interview we don’t like we just shut up shop really quickly.” PerthNow reported his account on 2 March 2023.
Dylan Moran
Molloy said Moran gave the impression that he “just didn’t want to be interviewed,” describing him as “absolutely not interested and rude.” That, too, is Molloy’s description of one interview experience, rather than a broader claim about Moran.

Who Molloy praised
Sting
Molloy recalled Sting arriving without the minders he had expected, completing the interview and staying afterward to chat. He called Sting “an absolutely beautiful, brilliant man” and said, “The whole time he was there, I never saw any ounce of affectation.”
Jason Alexander
Molloy called Alexander “one of the nicest blokes I’ve ever met.” He praised the actor’s humor and patience when fans approached him for photographs.

Where the recollections appeared—and how to read them
The four stories appeared in Molloy’s conversation on the I’ve Got News For You podcast, as covered by PerthNow. The episode page also describes the conversation as covering Molloy’s best and worst celebrity interviews. The Omny episode listing names Andrew Bucklow as host, Emily Pidgeon as producer, Nina Young as assistant producer and Joshua Burton as audio editor.
A separate report published by Radio Today on 31 August 2026 recounts comments Molloy made on Triple M Melbourne’s Mick in the Morning. In that later discussion, he named Twain and Gene Simmons as difficult interviews; his Twain story concerned an entourage and pre-approved questions. The Simmons anecdote belongs to that separate account, not to the 2023 podcast story about Moran, Sting and Alexander. Read Radio Today’s report.
