Rachel Leviss did not return to Vanderpump Rules for Season 11. Instead, she said she would watch and discuss the episodes on her podcast, Rachel Goes Rogue—a limited return to the conversation, not to filming with the cast.
What Leviss meant by “dipping my toe back into the drama”
The phrase referred to commenting on the show from outside it. In a February 6, 2024 report, Reality Tea said Leviss planned to discuss Season 11 episodes on Rachel Goes Rogue twice a week. She was not rejoining the cast or filming the season.
Leviss described the podcast as a way to talk about reality TV beyond its storylines. “My purpose for doing that isn’t to just be in the drama necessarily. I want to create a healthier environment for people watching reality TV. I want to be a part of creating ethical reality TV. And I think a part of that is educating people who are watching these shows about what we’re actually consuming,” she said, according to Reality Tea.
Why she chose not to film Season 11
Leviss described staying off the show as a decision about her well-being and the conditions she expected to face. In the February report, she said she did not think she would be welcomed back and anticipated that filming could trigger a “fight, flight or freeze” response. She said she wanted to prioritize her mental health and stability.

She also characterized the cast confrontation she anticipated as a group dynamic, saying it could feel difficult to face alone. That was her account of what returning might be like, not an independently established description of what would have happened on set.
TV Insider’s January 8, 2024 account of the first Rachel Goes Rogue episode reported two further reasons Leviss gave: she did not want to be drawn back into Tom Sandoval’s orbit, and she did not want filming to put Ariana Madix through more pain. Those were her stated concerns, rather than predictions that can be verified from the reporting.

How she felt after watching the premiere
Watching the Season 11 premiere brought some grief and fear of missing out, according to a February 2, 2024 Reality Tea report. Leviss nevertheless said she believed she had made the right choice. She said she was glad not to be part of the season and felt more peace and stability in her daily life.

The Associated Press reported on November 26, 2024, that Vanderpump Rules was “on pause” after Season 11 and its reunion, and that Bravo planned to return with an entirely new cast except Lisa Vanderpump. AP also described Scandoval as the 2023 revelation of an affair between Sandoval and Leviss while Sandoval was living with his longtime partner and co-star, Madix. That report is dated context; it does not establish the show’s production or streaming status in 2026.
