Pandora Playback was a personalized year-in-review, but its current availability is unconfirmed. Pandora’s official announcement documents the 2019 edition; later listener discussions suggest some people had trouble reopening or sharing recaps, but they do not establish that Pandora discontinued the feature or that every listener received it.
What was Pandora Playback?
Pandora described Playback 2019 as “a personalized year in review of music curated for every Pandora listener.” It was announced as part of a refreshed mobile experience alongside other year-end music content, including a Top Thumb Hundred playlist. Pandora/SiriusXM’s December 4, 2019 announcement confirms that historical edition, not the feature’s current status.
Is Pandora Playback no longer available?
There is no verified official notice in the available sources saying Playback has been discontinued. Pandora Community discussions titled “Pandora Playback 2024” and “Playback 2025: End of year stats” show that listeners discussed later editions. Some participants reported receiving year-end recaps, while others described difficulty reopening or sharing one after dismissing it. These are individual reports, not a guarantee of access for all accounts or confirmation of Pandora’s current policy.
Can you reopen an old recap?
The official Pandora help page reviewed, “Why we’re not playing…”, covers station personalization and controls; it does not explain how to restore a past Playback recap. The sources also do not establish whether old recaps are kept in a persistent archive or whether a dismissed recap can be recovered.
#1 Best Overall
You can make a low-risk check by looking through the current Pandora app and account surfaces for a Playback or year-end recap entry, then contacting Pandora Support for account-specific guidance. Neither step is a confirmed recovery method, so a missing entry does not by itself prove that the feature has been discontinued.
