Piers Morgan apologized to Jay-Z and Beyoncé after saying their lawyers had contacted his show about allegations made by guest Jaguar Wright. Morgan said the lawyers characterized the claims as false and without factual basis; the show then edited them out of the original interview. The reports establish what Morgan said and what the show did, not an independent finding about the allegations.

Why did Piers Morgan apologize?
Morgan said Jay-Z and Beyoncé’s lawyers contacted the show and described Wright’s claims as “totally false and have no basis in fact.” He said the show complied with a legal request to cut the claims from the original interview. In his apology, Morgan said editing interviews was not something the show did lightly, despite its Uncensored identity, and acknowledged that the show faced legal limits.

Morgan’s description of the claims as false was his account of the lawyers’ position. The cited reports do not independently establish the truth or falsity of each allegation, and the apology itself was not an adjudication of them.
What was removed, and what did Morgan say?
Morgan said the show removed Wright’s claims from the original interview after the lawyers’ request. The Guardian quoted his apology as follows:

“Their lawyers contacted us to say that those claims were totally false and have no basis in fact. And we’ve therefore complied with the legal request to cut them from the original interview. Editing interviews is not something we do lightly on a show called Uncensored. But, like the proverbial cries of fire in a crowded theatre, there are legal limits on us, too. And we apologise to Jay-Z and Beyoncé.”
The Los Angeles Times reported the same public apology and used the U.S. spelling “theater” when quoting Morgan.
