What new details did the lawsuit reveal?
Rolling Stone reported on September 7, 2025, that an amended complaint filed by former business advisers Brigitte Kruse and Kevin Fialko included two pages described as excerpts from Priscilla Presley’s memoir, Softly, As I Leave You: Life After Elvis. The account reportedly describes Priscilla at Lisa Marie’s hospital bedside after a “code blue.” A doctor told her Lisa Marie’s heart had been restarted but might not continue beating, according to the reported excerpt.
In the passage, Priscilla says she asked what quality of life Lisa Marie would have and then told the doctor, “Take her off the machine, Doctor.” These are statements attributed to memoir excerpts reported as attached to the complaint. They are not a court’s determination of what happened, whether the decision violated Lisa Marie’s wishes, or whether anyone acted improperly.
What do the plaintiffs allege, and what is Priscilla Presley’s response?
Kruse and Fialko seek more than $50 million and allege fraud and breach of contract. In their death-related claims, they allege that Priscilla discontinued life support within hours, contrary to Lisa Marie’s directive, and suggest an estate- or trust-related financial motive. They also allege she failed to respond to earlier signs of illness. Those claims are allegations by the plaintiffs, not established findings.

Priscilla’s attorney, Marty Singer, rejected the accusations. The Independent quoted him calling the claims “fabricated” and saying that accusing a grieving mother of contributing to her daughter’s death was “malicious character assassination.” The Independent also reported that authorities had not claimed wrongdoing in Lisa Marie’s death.
What was Lisa Marie Presley’s official cause of death?
The County of Los Angeles Department of Medical Examiner determined that Lisa Marie died at age 54 from a small bowel obstruction caused by scar tissue that developed after bariatric surgery years earlier. The department classified the manner of death as natural.
According to the medical examiner, Lisa Marie was found unresponsive at home on January 12, 2023, taken to a hospital, and pronounced dead at 1708 hours. That official determination addresses the medical cause and manner of death; it does not decide the disputed claims about life-support decisions or intent in the civil case.

After Lisa Marie’s death, Priscilla challenged a 2016 amendment to Lisa Marie’s Promenade Trust that removed Priscilla as co-trustee and named Riley Keough and Benjamin Keough. The trust dispute was later settled. Rolling Stone reported that the settlement included a $1 million lump-sum payment connected to a life-insurance policy and a paid special-adviser role for Priscilla.

The plaintiffs point to estate control as a possible motive for the conduct they allege. The trust dispute and its settlement provide context for that theory, but do not prove it. The available reporting does not establish the lawsuit’s procedural status as of October 8, 2026; it should not be described as active, dismissed, or resolved without a current court docket or dependable updated reporting.
