UPI’s search-result excerpt reported that the first full-length trailer was released on April 16, 2026, and that the film was scheduled to premiere on May 20, 2026. The UPI page could not be independently accessed, and that scheduled date has passed; Amazon’s current listing says the film is streaming now.

Amazon’s synopsis sets the story around an international covert mission that exposes a deadly conspiracy. Jack Ryan is drawn back into espionage to confront a rogue black-ops unit, reuniting with Mike November and James Greer and working alongside MI6 officer Emma Marlowe.

How does the movie fit the Jack Ryan franchise?
The film follows a series that casts Ryan as a CIA analyst pulled into dangerous field operations. Across its four seasons, the show’s investigations involve suspicious bank transfers, a Venezuelan arms shipment, a rogue faction in the Russian government, and corruption within the CIA. Ghost War brings the returning characters into a new covert-mission story rather than serving as a fifth season.
For a book entry point, Amazon identifies Tom Clancy’s The Hunt for Red October as the first novel in the 28-title Jack Ryan book series and lists print, Kindle, and audiobook formats. The movie’s synopsis does not say that Ghost War is based on that novel.
