That was not an announcement: Disney later cast Tamara Smart as Thalia Grace for a recurring guest role in Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 2.
Who did Aryan Simhadri pick to play Thalia?
Simhadri named Momona Tamada as someone who would “make a pretty cool Thalia,” according to the indexed IMDb listing of the report. It was his preference, not a statement about an audition, negotiations or a casting decision. The available listing does not provide a full interview transcript, so the short phrase should not be expanded into a longer quote.
The suggestion was a fan cast: Simhadri, the actor behind Grover, sharing an idea about who might suit the character. It did not mean Tamada had been cast or was being considered officially.
Who plays Thalia in Percy Jackson Season 2?
Disney announced Tamara Smart as Thalia Grace for a recurring guest role in Season 2. Disney describes Thalia as the daughter of Zeus. Why Thalia matters in Season 2
Thalia is part of the Percy Jackson book story that informs the show. Season 2 is connected to The Sea of Monsters, the second book in Rick Riordan’s series. That context helps explain why news about the character’s arrival drew attention, but it does not change the distinction between Simhadri’s suggestion and Disney’s announced casting.
