Project Runway alumni have taken varied paths since competing: some have continued building fashion labels, while others have moved into consulting, education, or film and television costume work. The latest season result in coverage reviewed through September 2026 is Season 22 winner Jude Mikulencak. The career updates below are reported by entertainment publications and are not direct confirmations from every designer.
What happened to Project Runway winners after the show?
Winning the competition can provide visibility, but it does not dictate one career path. Alumni have worked independently, joined organizations, taught, consulted, and taken on entertainment-industry roles. The examples below highlight different kinds of work rather than rank designers by an undefined measure of success.
Jay McCarroll: fashion and costume work
Parade reports that Season 1 winner Jay McCarroll continued working as a fashion designer, showed a collection at New York Fashion Week in 2006, and later worked in film and television costume departments. Chloe Dao: a Houston boutique and television work

Christian Siriano: a namesake label and a return as mentor
After winning Season 4, Christian Siriano founded a namesake label and collaborated with brands including Payless, Victoria’s Secret, and Puma, Parade reports. He later returned to the series as a mentor. Source: Parade, July 9, 2026.

Veejay Floresca: a recent win and a runway collection

How to read these career updates
These snapshots describe different kinds of work, not a single definition of what it means to “make it” after reality television. A label, a costume-department role, a teaching post, or a consulting business can each represent a distinct professional direction. Some entries describe ongoing activity as reported in a roundup; others, such as a runway appearance or a 2024 collection, are dated milestones.
The updates come from secondary entertainment coverage, principally Parade’s roundup of winners through Season 21 and Us Weekly’s report on Season 22. They are useful snapshots, but they are not direct statements from every alum; business and employment details can change.

What is new about Project Runway in 2026?
Freeform’s official press page says the 2026 season premiered July 9 on Hulu, Disney+, and Freeform. It lists Heidi Klum, Law Roach, and Nina Garcia as judges, with Christian Siriano as mentor.
