Lovesexy and “Alphabet St.”
In 1988, Glover choreographed Prince’s Lovesexy tour. She also sang backup and delivered a rap on “Alphabet St.,” a song associated with the Lovesexy era. The Guardian’s September 2024 obituary also emphasizes her performance partnership and stagecraft with Prince.
What happened after she left Prince’s band?
Glover left Prince’s band in 1989 after a disagreement, according to the Sun-Times. That year she released Catwoman, her own recording, and continued working as a dancer and choreographer. It is distinct from the Sign o’ the Times concert film: one is her solo release, the other documents a Prince concert performance.
