It is not confirmed whether Princess Beatrice or Princess Eugenie will attend Christmas at Sandringham in December 2026. The available reports establish that both attended the Royal Family’s Christmas Day church service there in 2025. Their reported absence from an Easter service in 2026 was a separate event and does not settle their Christmas plans.
What is known about their Sandringham Christmas plans?
No reliable report cited here confirms whether either sister will attend Sandringham at Christmas 2026. The most recent confirmed Christmas attendance in this timeline is 25 December 2025, when Beatrice and Eugenie joined the Royal Family for the Christmas morning church service, according to The Guardian and Sky News.
That public church appearance establishes that they attended the service; it does not necessarily establish every detail of the wider private family gathering.
Does their Easter 2026 absence mean they are skipping Christmas?
No. On 30 March 2026, ITV News and The Independent reported that Beatrice and Eugenie planned to miss the traditional Easter church service at St George’s Chapel in Windsor after making alternative plans, with the King’s agreement. That report concerns Easter, not Christmas at Sandringham. ITV also reported that the sisters had joined the family there at Christmas and were understood to be part of future family celebrations, but did not confirm an invitation or attendance for December 2026.

Why does the headline resemble a 2024 report?
In December 2024, Tatler reported prospectively that both sisters would not attend Sandringham. A later Guardian update said Beatrice had changed her travel plans for medical reasons and would join the Royal Family, while Eugenie and her family planned to spend Christmas with her in-laws. The initial report therefore did not remain an accurate description of both sisters’ eventual plans.
What is the Sandringham Christmas tradition?
Sandringham is the Royal Family’s traditional Christmas and New Year setting, and the family traditionally attends a Christmas morning service at St Mary Magdalene Church. The Royal Family’s official account notes that Christmas celebrations returned to Sandringham in 1988 after several years at Windsor while the castle was rewired: The Royal Family at Christmas.
