Playbill reports that Pointer and Jules Irving co-founded the San Francisco Actors’ Workshop with Herbert Blau and Beatrice Manley.
The family account also says the company eventually took over New York’s Vivian Beaumont Theater. That detail comes from the family’s account rather than an independently checked theater-history record.

How did Amy Irving remember her mother?
In a statement reproduced by the Los Angeles Times, Irving said her mother “died peacefully in her sleep at the age of 100, hopefully to run off with her 2 adoring husbands and her many dogs.” The newspaper identified Irving as the speaker and reported that she shared the words on social media.
