In a family film shared on September 9, 2024, Catherine, Princess of Wales, and Prince William embrace, kiss and hold hands. The video accompanied Catherine’s announcement that she had completed chemotherapy; despite the original “new video” framing, it is not a newly released 2026 clip.
What happens in the video?
Harper’s Bazaar reported that the film shows Catherine and William sharing affectionate moments, including an embrace, a kiss and holding hands. It also includes scenes with their children and family time at home, including card games with Catherine’s parents, Carole and Michael Middleton. Harper’s Bazaar described the footage as an unusually intimate glimpse of the couple compared with their more restrained public appearances. Harper’s Bazaar’s September 9, 2024 report covers the video and its context.
When and why was it shared?
According to Harper’s Bazaar, the approximately three-minute film was shot in Norfolk in August 2024 by filmmaker Will Warr. Catherine shared it on September 9, 2024, as she announced that she had completed chemotherapy. The report connects the footage to her treatment and recovery at that time; it does not provide a further medical update.
What does Catherine say in the voiceover?
Harper’s Bazaar transcribed several lines from Catherine’s narration, reflecting on the effect of illness on her family and their perspective. She says:
