Priscilla is Sofia Coppola’s 2023 drama about Priscilla Beaulieu’s relationship with Elvis Presley, told from Priscilla’s perspective. The film is based on her memoir, Elvis and Me, written with Sandra Harmon. It is a dramatized feature film, not a documentary or a definitive historical record.
What is Priscilla about?
The film follows Priscilla Beaulieu from her teenage years and first meeting with Elvis Presley through their courtship and marriage. A24 describes its focus as the story seen “through Priscilla’s eyes,” tracing the relationship from a German army base to Graceland. That is the distributor’s promotional synopsis, rather than an independent historical assessment. A24’s official film page identifies the movie as written and directed by Sofia Coppola.
Rather than centering Elvis’s public career, the film attends to Priscilla’s experience of private life alongside a world-famous star. It is a feature drama, so its scenes and storytelling should be understood as an adaptation, not as documentary footage or a complete account of the historical record.
What book is Priscilla based on?
The film is based on Elvis and Me, Priscilla Presley’s memoir written with Sandra Harmon. Warner Bros. Discovery’s announcement names the book and its authors as the film’s source. The memoir is the most direct place to turn for Priscilla Presley’s own account; the film reshapes source material for a different format and point of view.

A24 Shop lists an official Priscilla Screenplay Book. Its listing describes an introduction by Rashida Jones, an essay by Vendela Vida, on-set photography by Sofia Coppola, an excerpt from Elvis and Me, and Polaroids by Sabrina Lantos. The shop page documents the book’s contents; it does not establish current stock or availability through other retailers.
Is Priscilla based on a true story?
It is based on a real person’s memoir and a historical relationship, but it remains a scripted dramatic film. The official source attribution establishes that the movie draws on Elvis and Me; it does not establish that every scene, dialogue exchange, or chronology is exact. The available official descriptions do not support scene-by-scene claims about historical accuracy.

Where can I watch Priscilla?
Availability depends on territory and changes over time. Warner Bros. Discovery announced a Max streaming debut for February 23, but that dated announcement is not proof of present-day access. Apple TV has a US catalog page; a catalog listing alone does not establish availability in other countries or whether the title is included with a subscription rather than offered for rental or purchase. Check the service in your region for current options.

Yes. ABKCO documents the Priscilla Original Motion Picture Soundtrack and lists its release date as November 3, 2023. See the label’s soundtrack announcement and soundtrack page. Those pages establish the soundtrack’s release, but do not establish that a physical CD or vinyl edition is currently available.
