Em entrevista publicada pela GamesRadar+ em 6 de março de 2026, Murphy explicou que a equipe pretendia fazer uma sétima série, mas a pandemia mudou os planos. “And then we were going to do series 7, and then the pandemic happened, and that put the kibosh on that. And then the film came into focus”, disse o ator. Em tradução: “Íamos fazer a série 7, e então aconteceu a pandemia, o que pôs fim a isso. Depois, o filme entrou em foco.”
Murphy também descreveu o longa como uma forma satisfatória de concluir a série de TV em duas horas, em vez de seis. A explicação dele aponta a pandemia como o motivo da interrupção do plano para a 7ª temporada e o filme como o caminho que ganhou prioridade. O que vem depois de The Immortal Man?
A franquia continua com uma série-sequência distinta, centrada em uma nova geração dos Shelby. Segundo o anúncio da Netflix, a produção foi planejada para duas temporadas de seis episódios cada e se passa no início dos anos 1950, em Birmingham. Steven Knight criou e escreveu a série. Essa nova série não deve ser chamada de 7ª temporada de Peaky Blinders: ela acompanha outros personagens e se passa em outro período. Knight resumiu a ideia dizendo que “a nova geração dos Shelby assumiu o volante”.
