Post Malone reportedly left a $20,000 tip for Renee Brown, a bartender at The Railyard in Houston, on Christmas Eve 2024. Local media said Brown found the tip while closing out the tab and said the money could help her gain stability and save toward starting a business.
What happened at The Railyard
The Houston Chronicle reported that Post Malone visited the Houston bar on December 24, 2024, with fellow artist Shaboozey. According to the Chronicle, regulars bought the artists’ drinks, and Post Malone asked to be charged a small amount so he could leave Brown a tip. The report does not specify how the tip was paid.

Brown described discovering the amount while closing the tab in an interview with Music Mayhem, as reported by the Express-News: “It was a tip for $20,000.” She said she broke down crying when she saw it.
What Brown said the money could mean
Brown said the unexpected gift could help her find stability and put money aside to start her own business. She also told the Houston Chronicle: “His generosity with this life-changing gift blew me away. This definitely wasn’t the Christmas Eve I was expecting, but one I’m forever thankful to have had.”

Brown told Houston Food Finder that she tries to take care of the bar’s customers and recalled that Post Malone was genuine and helped people feel comfortable during the visit. The available accounts do not establish how she ultimately used the money.
Why Post Malone was in Houston
The Chronicle reported that Post Malone and Shaboozey were in Houston for a Christmas Day performance with Beyoncé during the halftime show at the Houston Texans game at NRG Stadium. The tip was reported as a separate gesture during their Christmas Eve visit to The Railyard.

The bar owner’s response
Railyard owner Trey Melcher said the gesture brightened the bar’s holiday season. He told the Chronicle: “One of the most amazing things about this bar is that you never know who is going to walk through the door. In the past we’ve had visits from celebrities, but this unexpected act of kindness made all of our holiday seasons brighter.”

The $20,000 figure and Brown’s account were reported by local media. The coverage cited here does not include an independently authenticated receipt or payment record, or a direct statement from Post Malone confirming the tip. Details such as the payment method, taxes, any tip-sharing arrangement, and what Brown eventually did with the money have not been established in those reports.
