Update: IKEA Japan’s Pokémon Pokopia collaboration has ended. IKEA Island was accessible in the game through June 30, 2026, and the store displays ran from April 1 to May 10, 2026. The Japan-only promotion paired a temporary in-game cloud island with real IKEA room displays inspired by Pikachu and Snorlax.
What was the Pokémon Pokopia IKEA crossover?
Announced by IKEA Japan on March 31, 2026, the collaboration marked IKEA Japan’s 20th anniversary and Pokémon’s 30th anniversary. It connected IKEA Island, a cloud island inside Pokémon Pokopia, with room displays in participating Japanese IKEA stores. During the campaign, visitors to participating stores could find the island address. IKEA Okayama was excluded from the store campaign.
Pokémon Pokopia is a Nintendo Switch 2 game released on March 5, 2026, according to The Pokémon Company. The collaboration was specific to IKEA Japan; it was not a global IKEA event.
Can you visit IKEA Island now?
No. The in-game island was available only through June 30, 2026. IKEA Japan’s campaign page now marks the promotion as ended. The physical store displays ran April 1 through May 10, 2026, with related store activities from April 18 through May 10.

What did the Pikachu and Snorlax rooms look like?
IKEA’s designers created two different home concepts, and stores displayed either both designs or one. The rooms were inspiration for everyday IKEA furnishings, not evidence of exclusive Pokémon merchandise or a permanent product range.
| Room | Design idea | Layout and details |
|---|---|---|
| Pikachu-inspired | A playful, forest-like room | Children’s products and Swedish-style mushroom and leaf motifs create an open setting intended for socializing, rest, creativity and play. |
| Snorlax-inspired | A comfortable place to sleep | A soft blue-and-white palette evokes clouds; a dining table sits next to the bed, with full-wall storage for everyday goods and food. |
The campaign page suggested visitors could buy items matching the showroom rooms. It did not establish that those items were exclusive collaboration products; specific products and current availability should be checked with IKEA.

What happened at the stores?
During the April 18–May 10 activity period, visitors could take part in a seven-stamp rally and keep the stamp sheet. IKEA Family members who made a qualifying single in-store purchase of ¥5,000 or more could receive a sticker and enter a prize draw. The listed prizes included IKEA gift cards and original campaign goods.
The purchase offer excluded services, IKEA gift-card purchases, Swedish Bistro purchases, online orders and remote shopping. Sticker designs rotated and were available only while supplies lasted. These were historical terms for the ended campaign, not current offers.
