When Adam died and what was reported at the time
Adam Harrison died on January 19, 2024, at age 39. The Associated Press reported his death on January 20, citing family spokesperson Laura Herlovich, who described the cause at that time as a suspected overdose and said she did not know what substance was involved. Harrison’s later statement about fentanyl came in the March 2025 interview; it should not be confused with what the family spokesperson knew when the death was first reported. The Associated Press also reported that Adam was not featured on Pawn Stars.
Harrison’s first public tribute
In the immediate aftermath of Adam’s death, Rick posted a photo with his son on Instagram. CBS News reported that Harrison wrote: “You will always be in my heart! I love you Adam,” CBS News reported.

Why the update was not an anniversary-day statement
The interview took place on March 19, 2025, and E! published its report on March 20—more than a year after Adam’s death, but not on the January 19 anniversary. The update was about Harrison’s continuing grief, not a new event involving Pawn Stars.
