Paramount+ said in July 2024 that it would not make a third season. A September 2025 release roundup listed the two-season series for Netflix in the United States beginning October 1, 2025.
What happened to the Halo TV series?
Paramount+ confirmed on July 19, 2024, that Halo would not move forward with a third season on that service. The series had aired two seasons. In its statement, quoted by Variety, Paramount+ said: “Paramount+ can confirm that ‘Halo’ will not move forward with a third season on the service.” The statement thanked Xbox, 343 Industries, Amblin Television, showrunner David Wiener, the cast, and the crew.
At the time, Variety reported that Xbox, Amblin Television, and 343 Industries would seek another outlet for the series. A later US streaming release listing supplied a new distribution opportunity: Tom’s Guide reported in September 2025 that Halo would begin streaming on Netflix in the United States on October 1, 2025.
Did Netflix save Halo?
Netflix’s listed release was a new place to watch the existing series, not evidence that Netflix ordered more episodes. The distinction matters: a streaming license or catalog release can extend a show’s reach without restarting production. The available announcements establish no Netflix commission, season-three order, or return to filming.

343 Industries said, as quoted by Variety, “We deeply appreciate the millions of fans who propelled the ‘Halo’ series to be a global success and we remain committed to broadening the ‘Halo’ universe in different ways in the future.” That comment concerns the wider franchise; it does not promise to continue this television series.

No. In an interview published by Entertainment Weekly on June 22, 2026, Xbox Chief Content Officer Matt Booty said: “Halo, first and foremost, is one of our biggest franchises. It’s iconic to Xbox and we’re certainly going to invest going forward.” He was speaking about the Halo franchise generally. The interview does not announce a third season or a continuation of this TV series.

The later Netflix listing gives viewers in the United States another reported way to find the series, subject to catalog changes. It does not reverse Paramount+’s cancellation or establish a new production order. The best-supported meaning of “redemption” here is that an already-produced two-season show received a later streaming window—not that it was revived for season three.
