The standout was Saros, Housemarque’s new PS5 game; the strongest trailer picks also include Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater for its concrete date and returning minigame, and Onimusha: Way of the Sword for its new gameplay and casting reveal. “Best” here is an editorial judgment based on what each trailer added—not an audience ranking.
What was the February 2025 State of Play?
The broadcast took place on February 12, 2025. PlayStation described it as a “40+ minute show,” scheduled for YouTube and Twitch in English and Japanese. Its event preview listed the start as 2 p.m. PT, 5 p.m. ET, 11 p.m. CET, and 7 a.m. JST on February 13.
PlayStation’s official recap described a program of new game reveals, fresh looks at upcoming titles, release-date confirmations, and other updates. It was not a lineup made entirely of brand-new games: it included new projects, sequels, remasters, updates to announced games, and PlayStation Plus catalog news.
The biggest reveal: Saros
Saros was the clearest headline for players looking for something genuinely new. Housemarque announced the PS5 action game as a story set on Carcosa, a lost off-world colony under an eclipse. Its protagonist is Arjun Devraj. The February 2025 announcement gave a 2026 launch timeframe and said an extended gameplay look was planned for later that year; that is what PlayStation reported at the event, not a statement of the game’s present release schedule.

It stands out as a reveal rather than a date update: the event introduced the game, its setting, and its central character, while leaving a fuller gameplay presentation for later.
Best trailers and most substantial game updates
These picks reflect different kinds of value: some supplied concrete dates, others revealed new gameplay or details that made an already announced game easier to understand.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater: a date, the Cobra Unit, and Snake vs Monkey
Konami set the PS5 release date for August 28, 2025. The trailer showed the Cobra Unit in-game for the first time and confirmed the return of the Snake vs Monkey minigame mode. It is one of the most informative trailers in the broadcast because it combined a firm date with previously unseen game content and a returning feature.
Onimusha: Way of the Sword: new gameplay and a face-model reveal
Capcom showed new gameplay from the PS5 action game, which was announced for 2026. The presentation also revealed that actor Toshiro Mifune would serve as the face model for protagonist Miyamoto Musashi. This was a substantial look at an upcoming title, though the event did not give it a specific release day.

Monster Hunter Wilds: launch promotion and a spring update tease
Capcom used the showcase to promote Monster Hunter Wilds’ February 28, 2025 launch and announced a post-launch Title Update planned for spring, with at least one more large monster. The news was an update to an announced game, not a new game reveal.
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds: first gameplay and new mechanics
Sega showed first gameplay for the PS5 and PS4 racer. The footage introduced Travel Rings and a perk-like Gadget feature, giving viewers a clearer picture of how this entry would distinguish its racing. The recap did not provide a release date in the announcement covered here.

WWE 2K25: The Island
The trailer introduced The Island, an online WWE-themed environment, and the game was announced for PS5 and PS4 on March 14, 2025. It combined a concrete date with a new mode reveal.
Other new games revealed
Tides of Annihilation
Eclipse Glow Studio revealed a single-player action adventure set in a shattered, mystical version of London. It features protagonist Gwendolyn and spectral knights. The announcement established the premise and tone, rather than a release date.

Metal Eden
Reikon Games presented its science-fiction first-person shooter, planned for PS5 on May 6, 2025. Its date made this one of the more concrete new-game announcements in the show.

These announcements were not all the same kind of news: Borderlands 4, The Midnight Walk, and Lost Soul Aside received dates; Shinobi was presented as a revival; and Onimusha 2 was a remaster. Treating every item as a fresh original-game reveal would blur those distinctions.
Other announcements and catalog additions
The official recap also covered Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, MindsEye, Splitgate 2, Split Fiction, Stellar Blade, and Warriors: Abyss, alongside other updates. It said a PS5 demo for Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii would arrive February 14, and a Splitgate 2 alpha was scheduled for February 27, 2025.
PlayStation’s February catalog additions were set to become playable on February 18, 2025, and included Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, Top Spin 2K25, and Lost Records: Bloom & Rage – Tape 1. These were subscription-catalog announcements, distinct from new game reveals or trailer premieres.

Those sources establish where the show was broadcast and where PlayStation organized its recap; they do not establish that every individual trailer remains available at a particular current URL.
