Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne met in 1970, but their romantic relationship began years later, after Sharon became his manager as he launched a solo career. They married in 1982, raised three children and briefly separated in 2016 before reconciling. Their marriage lasted until Ozzy died on 22 July 2025, at age 76.

1970: They meet through music management
Sharon and Ozzy were introduced in 1970, when her father, music manager Don Arden, was being considered to manage Black Sabbath. Their later partnership would involve both Ozzy’s career and their personal lives. The Independent’s timeline and Biography.com’s account both place their introduction that year.
1979: Sharon becomes Ozzy’s manager
After Ozzy left Black Sabbath, Sharon took him on as a client and manager, helping him move into a solo career. The Independent and Biography.com describe their working relationship as becoming romantic around this time. Biography.com and the Associated Press note that Ozzy was still married to his first wife when the relationship began; this is biographical context, not a claim about every detail of how the relationship unfolded. The Associated Press report also provides context on the couple’s history.
1982: They marry
Sharon and Ozzy married in 1982. Biography.com dates the wedding to 4 July, while The Independent reports that it took place in Hawaii.

1983–1985: They have three children
Their children are Aimee, born in 1983; Kelly, born in 1984; and Jack, born in 1985. Aimee chose not to appear in the family’s reality series, while Kelly and Jack did.
1989: A reported violent incident
The Independent and Biography.com report that, during a drug- or alcohol-influenced episode in 1989, Ozzy attempted to strangle Sharon and was sent to rehabilitation. This was a serious act of violence, not a colorful anecdote about a turbulent marriage. The accounts establish the incident as reported by those publications; they do not make it appropriate to minimize its harm.

2002–2005: The family appears on television
The Osbournes followed the family for four seasons. Kelly and Jack appeared on the show; Aimee declined to take part. The series made the family’s domestic life part of their shared public story, alongside Ozzy’s music career and Sharon’s management work.
2016–2017: Separation, reconciliation and vow renewal
In 2016, the couple briefly separated amid reports of Ozzy’s infidelity. The Independent reports that Sharon later publicly forgave him and that they reconciled; Biography.com also describes the reconciliation and quotes Ozzy’s assessment of the marriage at the time. The reported infidelity and the couple’s own later disclosures should be understood as attributed accounts, rather than independently established detail about every allegation.

The Independent reports that they renewed their vows in Las Vegas in 2017. The renewal followed their reconciliation, but it does not erase the earlier conflict or the circumstances that led to their separation.
2022: Sharon speaks publicly about their marriage
In 2022, after 40 years of marriage, Sharon said publicly that she and Ozzy were still in love. Biography.com also recounts her description of them as “meant to be.” These were Sharon’s personal characterizations of the relationship, not an objective account that resolves its painful episodes.

2025: Their marriage ends with Ozzy’s death
Ozzy died on 22 July 2025, aged 76. The Associated Press reported that the family’s announcement said he was with his family and surrounded by love. Sharon and Ozzy remained married until his death, just weeks after their 43rd wedding anniversary; Sharon is his widow.

Sharon was not only Ozzy’s spouse: she became his manager after he left Black Sabbath and helped guide the solo career that followed. That overlap shaped the couple’s public history. Their family’s reality television years brought another shared role, with parts of their home life filmed for The Osbournes. Those professional and public dimensions sit alongside, rather than replace, the private milestones and difficulties of their marriage.

A documentary about their final chapter
Production company Banijay describes Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne: Coming Home as a documentary filmed over three years with the couple, Kelly and Jack, and close friends. Banijay says it follows the couple’s final chapter and aired on BBC One and iPlayer on 2 October 2025. The available information here does not establish where it can currently be streamed in every territory. Banijay’s announcement has details about the production and broadcast.
