The Academy scheduled the 97th Oscars for Sunday, March 2, 2025, at the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood. At the time, it said the ceremony would air live on ABC, stream live on Hulu, and be broadcast live in more than 200 territories. The Academy announced Julianne Hough and Jesse Palmer as hosts of “The Oscars Red Carpet Show.” ABC News Live also carried a separate program, “On the Red Carpet at the Oscars,” co-hosted by Linsey Davis and Whit Johnson. Its team included ABC News correspondent Chris Connelly, KABC-TV entertainment reporter George Pennacchio, and Variety chief awards editor Clayton Davis. AP’s analysis noted broader use of red, black, and pink, and attributed its fashion commentary to named sources. Harper’s Bazaar fashion news director Brooke Bobb told AP: “The Oscars red carpet style really leaned into old Hollywood glamour, which is a trend that’s been building throughout the last year on the red carpet and on the runways.” That is Bobb’s assessment, not an official Academy judgment or an objective ranking. How to interpret the arrivals coverage
- It is selective, not a full arrival log. The AP and ABC reports and galleries show a broad selection of arrivals, but do not establish a complete chronological record of everyone who attended.
- Look descriptions depend on the reporting. Use designers, collection names, and garment details when a source explicitly supplies them; do not infer them from a photograph or a person’s name.
- “Best dressed” is opinion. Any such label should be attributed to the critic or publication using it, not presented as a measurable fact.
- Current replay access is unverified. The Academy’s announcement describes how the ceremony was to be carried in March 2025, not what a viewer can stream today.
