Omasa’s Tuart Hill restaurant is a strong fit if you want a broad Japanese all-you-can-eat meal and are comfortable with a timed sitting. In Simon Collins’s May 2025 PerthNow review, the beef tataki, agedashi tofu and chicken karaage were standouts; pork gyoza was the clear miss. He rated the restaurant 14.5/20. That is one critic’s account of one visit, not a promise about every meal or today’s menu.
What the review found
Collins described an izakaya-style spread spanning sushi and sashimi, tempura, teriyaki, teppanyaki and other Japanese dishes, served during a 90-minute booking. His overall verdict was positive: the restaurant delivered variety and quality alongside the quantity expected from an all-you-can-eat meal.
The highlights were specific rather than universal. Collins liked beef tataki that was lightly seared and red inside, served with ponzu and wasabi mayonnaise; silky agedashi tofu in dashi broth; crunchy chicken karaage; curry katsu chicken; and tempura prawns with a dipping sauce of dashi, sweet rice wine and soy. The deep-fried oyster was crisp, though he questioned whether frying was the best treatment for it.
The sushi and sashimi platter included four sushi varieties, three nigiri and several slices of salmon sashimi, with wasabi, pickled ginger and kewpie mayonnaise. Flame-seared salmon nigiri with spicy mayonnaise and the salmon sashimi stood out. By contrast, the pork gyoza was reported as hard and chewy, which Collins attributed to overcooking or over-frying.

For dessert, the review mentions soft-serve ice cream, warabi mochi with kinako and matcha taiyaki. Collins found the warabi mochi less sweet than he preferred and described the taiyaki as a custard-filled, fish-shaped pancake with a green-tea flavour between sweet and savoury. He noted that the mochi and taiyaki were limited to one serve per customer.

The official homepage display does not state when its prices took effect, and its child age band differs from the review’s wording. Omasa’s About page says children aged 5–12 receive 45% off the regular all-you-can-eat price, but that statement should not be used to calculate a current charge without confirming the restaurant’s terms. Check directly with Omasa for the applicable prices and age rules.
Tuart Hill location, hours and booking
The reviewed restaurant is Omasa at 68 Lawley Street, Tuart Hill, Western Australia. Omasa’s official website also lists a separate Joondalup location at 46 Davidson Terrace; the review describes the Tuart Hill branch, so its experience should not be assumed to apply to Joondalup.

As displayed on Omasa’s website when accessed October 8, 2026, Tuart Hill hours are Monday closed; Tuesday–Thursday 5–9 pm; Friday–Saturday 5–9:30 pm; and Sunday 5–9 pm. Saturday lunch is listed from noon to 2:30 pm. The site provides a booking option. Hours and reservation availability can change, so check the official Omasa website before setting out.

Omasa’s About page says food from the all-you-can-eat menu cannot be taken away. The same page describes a 45% discount for children aged 5–12, while the homepage displays a specific child price; ask the restaurant which current terms apply rather than assuming the discount can be combined with that displayed rate. - Consider before booking: the 90-minute sitting was reported by the 2025 reviewer, and the account includes uneven execution as well as standout dishes. If you are choosing between Tuart Hill and Joondalup, compare travel convenience, current hours and booking availability on the official site rather than assuming the branches are interchangeable.
