The Pokémon Red & Pokémon Blue Game Music Collection: Game Boy Jukebox is a miniature, Game Boy-shaped music player—not a playable mini console. Its 45 interchangeable cartridges cue music and sound effects from the original Pokémon games. The Pokémon Company presented it as part of Pokémon’s 30th-anniversary celebration.
What the Game Boy Jukebox does
The Jukebox is a sound player styled after the original Game Boy. Insert one of its small cartridges to play a track or sound effect from the original Pokémon games. Its screen and buttons are decorative, according to launch coverage; it does not run games. That makes it a music collectible rather than a miniature console. The Pokémon Company’s UK announcement describes the player as looking and sounding like a Game Boy and confirms the cartridge-based music and effects. Nintendojo’s report also notes the decorative controls.
What comes in the collection
Nintendojo reports that the package includes the player, 45 cartridges, a storage case and three LR44 button cells. The batteries are described as demonstration batteries, so buyers may need replacements for continued use. Nintendojo’s track list includes familiar cues such as “Title Screen,” “Pallet Town Theme,” “Professor Oak,” and “Professor Oak’s Laboratory,” as well as “Hall of Fame” and “Ending Theme.” Those are examples from its report, not a separately confirmed complete list from the official product packaging.
Which Pokémon games are represented?
International product materials call the collection Pokémon Red & Pokémon Blue, while the Japanese official product page names Pokémon Red/Green. The difference reflects regional game naming: the original Japanese releases were Red and Green. The Japanese page describes music from those games and a Game Boy-style playback device with 45 interchangeable cartridges. It gives the body dimensions as about 8.5 cm tall and 5.2 cm wide. Pokémon Taiwan also used the Red/Green name in its February 27, 2026 announcement, describing a March 14 appearance at Pokémon Center Taipei and a collection containing all 45 tracks. That announcement records a regional event, not ongoing availability. Pokémon Taiwan’s announcement.
Sound, size and practical limits
The player’s small body and cartridge format make it a display-friendly way to revisit the games’ music, but the available descriptions position it as a dedicated audio collectible rather than a replacement for playing the original games. Nintendo Life reported that the device has no headphone jack, based on its own inquiry; this is secondary reporting, not an official specification listed in the product materials. In the Pokémon Presents segment, composer Junichi Masuda was quoted as saying he “took particular care to make the audio sound just like a Game Boy,” as reported by Nintendo Life.

Nintendo Life reported on February 27, 2026, that the Jukebox was available through Pokémon Center in North America and the UK at launch, priced at $69.99 in the US and £59.99 in the UK. These are historical launch prices, not confirmed current prices.
