Nezuko’s “awakened form” is the intensified demon state she enters during her fight with Daki in the Entertainment District Arc. The anime shows her appearance changing as Daki attacks; Nezuko gains the upper hand, then turns toward injured bystanders until Tanjiro restrains her. The episode calls it a “demon form,” but its synopsis does not explain a precise trigger or transformation mechanism.
What happens when Nezuko transforms?
In the official synopsis for Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Entertainment District Arc Episode 7, titled “Transformation,” Nezuko rushes to help Tanjiro during a critical moment. The synopsis says: “As Nezuko rushes to aid Tanjiro during a critical moment, her appearance begins to gradually take on a demon form as she sustains Daki’s attacks.”
As the change progresses, Nezuko overpowers Daki. But after the fight turns in her favor, she heads toward injured bystanders. Tanjiro intervenes and restrains her. The sequence presents the transformation as powerful, but also as a moment when Nezuko’s usual restraint is at risk. Read the official Episode 7 synopsis.
Why is Nezuko’s behavior alarming?
Nezuko is a demon, but protecting humans—including Tanjiro—is central to how the official character profile describes her. The profile says she normally never attacks people, crediting both Urokodaki’s hypnotic suggestion and Nezuko’s own willpower. Her movement toward injured civilians in this fight sharply contrasts with that established behavior.

The official synopsis establishes what happens, but does not explain the mechanics behind Nezuko’s loss of control. See Nezuko’s Entertainment District Arc character profile.
Is “awakened form” the official name?
“Awakened form” is a convenient way to refer to the change, especially when discussing this scene, but the official anime page does not present it as a formal technical name. The episode is titled “Transformation,” and its synopsis calls the altered state a “demon form.”

SEGA uses “Advanced Demon Form” in the title of a Nezuko character pack for Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles, dated August 10, 2022. That is a label for game content; it does not establish a universal name for the anime transformation. See SEGA’s character-pack page.
What do official sources explain about the transformation?
The episode synopsis documents the visible sequence: Nezuko sustains Daki’s attacks, her appearance changes, she gains the upper hand, and she turns toward injured bystanders before Tanjiro restrains her. It does not say exactly what triggers the change or how it works.

Nezuko’s broader character context is that she is Tanjiro’s younger sister, became a demon after demon blood entered her body through an open wound, and protects him and other humans. She cannot be exposed to sunlight, so Tanjiro carries her in a wooden box during the day. These facts help explain her role in the story, but they do not supply a technical explanation for this particular transformation. See Nezuko’s Unwavering Resolve Arc character profile.
