Spoilers for One Piece Chapter 1143. The chapter ends with Loki challenging Hajrudin to reconsider whether Loki killed King Harald out of simple murderous intent. It is a pointed question, not a confession, an exoneration, or an answer to who killed Harald. What happens in Chapter 1143?
Two crises run alongside each other: the Holy Knights’ threat to Elbaph’s children and the unresolved history between Loki, Hajrudin, and their father. In the Underworld, Luffy’s confrontation with Loki gives way to urgent medical treatment when Loki collapses from his injuries. The Holy Knights endanger the children
The children are sleepwalking, and the Holy Knights’ powers make reaching them perilous. St. Sommers’s thorn power blocks others from getting to the children safely, while St. Killingham’s dream-related power manifests threats. What does Harald’s flashback reveal?
The flashback shows Harald telling young Loki and Hajrudin that he wants them to support Elbaph together. That memory gives the brothers’ present hostility a sharper contrast: their father hoped they would share responsibility for their homeland. Did Loki really kill King Harald?
Chapter 1143 does not resolve that question. Loki asks Hajrudin whether he truly believes Loki killed their father with pure murderous intent, challenging the accepted account’s simple explanation of motive. The question leaves room for doubt about what happened and why, but does not establish that Loki is innocent, identify another killer, or provide a full account of Harald’s death. Why does the cliffhanger matter?
The ending redirects attention from the brothers’ grievance to the danger facing Elbaph. Harald wanted his sons to stand together for their country; now Loki’s question presses Hajrudin to reconsider their history while the Holy Knights’ operation threatens the children. The chapter connects those threads without settling either the Harald mystery or the larger crisis.
