One Piece Chapter 962 follows Kozuki Oden as he gathers retainers during the Wano flashback. The chapter is collected in Volume 95; its focus is the early formation of the group later known as the Nine Red Scabbards.
What happens in Chapter 962?
Chapter 962 is part of Oden’s Wano backstory. As he travels, he brings people into his orbit who become his retainers. The chapter reference names Kanjuro, Raizo, Kikunojo (Kiku), and Ashura Doji among those Oden gathers, and describes him recruiting further allies. These events show the group taking shape; they are distinct from later developments in Oden’s story.

VIZ’s Volume 96 listing is for a different, later collection; its synopsis covers Oden’s subsequent voyage and meeting with Gold Roger. It should not be confused with the volume containing Chapter 962: VIZ One Piece, Volume 96.
