Need the NYT Pips answers for Tuesday, March 3, 2026? Below are the placements listed by difficulty and region. The guide gives each domino’s values and orientation, but not cell coordinates, so use each entry with its matching region clue on your board.
How to read today’s Pips clues
Pips uses domino-like tiles placed horizontally or vertically across color-coded regions. The rule applies to the pips inside each region; a tile can cross a boundary, so only one half may count toward a particular region. Adjacent tiles do not have to match simply because they touch.
- Number: The pips in the region must add up to its target.
- Equal: Each tile half in the region must show the same number.
- Not Equal: Tile halves in the region must show different values.
- Less Than / Greater Than: The region’s total is constrained by the displayed comparison clue.

The source labels one clue “Less Than (2),” but its accompanying explanation contradicts that label by saying the total must be greater than 2. Treat the displayed board rule as authoritative; the answer list alone does not resolve that wording conflict.
