Spoilers for Dabi’s identity and the Todoroki family storyline. Dabi is Toya Todoroki, Endeavor’s eldest son and Shoto’s older brother. He was believed to have died in a mountain fire, and his Quirk is blue flames, according to the official anime broadcaster, Yomiuri TV.
Who is Dabi in My Hero Academia?
Dabi is Toya Todoroki. Yomiuri TV’s official character profile identifies him as Endeavor’s eldest son and Shoto’s older brother. The revelation connects the villain’s identity to the Todoroki family’s history rather than leaving him as a mysterious member of the League of Villains.
The profile says Toya was thought to have died in a mountain fire. It lists his Quirk as blue flames. Those confirmed details establish the central contrast in his backstory: the family believed Toya was dead, while Dabi continued to act mysteriously after joining the League of Villains following the Hosu incident.
Yomiuri TV’s official Dabi profile gives the broadcaster’s character details, including the Toya identity, family relationships, and Quirk.

Why does Dabi’s identity matter to the Todoroki story?
The reveal turns Dabi’s conflict with Endeavor and Shoto into a family confrontation. Endeavor is not simply facing a villain: Dabi is his eldest son, and Shoto’s older brother. The official anime introduction lists the Todoroki family conflict among the story’s major final-conflict threads, reinforcing that Dabi’s identity belongs to this broader family storyline.
Earlier material provides context for the Todorokis as a family without being the reveal itself. VIZ’s description of My Hero Academia, Vol. 26 mentions training under Endeavor and a dinner party at the Todoroki household. That makes the volume relevant for readers revisiting the family’s earlier story, but its synopsis does not establish where Dabi’s identity is first revealed.

What happens after the reveal?
The identity reveal sets up a later showdown between the brothers. VIZ’s synopsis for My Hero Academia, Vol. 36 says, “First, Todoroki squares off against Dabi with terrifying intensity.” The volume is a later confrontation, not a reliable guide to the first reveal’s exact location.
VIZ lists Vol. 36 as a 199-page Kohei Horikoshi manga volume, released December 5, 2023, in paperback and digital formats. The official Shonen Jump series page lists collected manga volumes and My Hero Academia Final Fan Book Ultra Age.

Where can you find the first reveal?
The official sources cited here confirm Dabi’s identity and point to earlier Todoroki context and a later confrontation, but they do not establish the exact English chapter or collected volume containing the first full reveal. They also do not identify the corresponding anime episode, so an episode number or chapter citation should not be inferred from the volume descriptions.
For official background, Yomiuri TV’s series introduction places the Todoroki family conflict among the anime’s major story threads. Readers can use VIZ’s Vol. 26 description for earlier household context and Vol. 36 for the later Shoto–Dabi confrontation, keeping those roles distinct from the unconfirmed first-reveal placement.
