Bandai Namco announced the new title and a 2025 release schedule in June 2025; a Bandai Namco Holdings corporate newsletter reports that service began on September 10, 2025. The original “2025 release” wording is therefore outdated as a future announcement, though current availability by territory has not been confirmed here.
What happened to Dragon Ball Project Multi?
Project Multi was the game’s project name. On June 5, 2025, Bandai Namco announced its official title as DRAGON BALL GEKISHIN SQUADRA, writing, “The official title of this new project is DRAGON BALL GEKISHIN SQUADRA!” The announcement described it as a team battle arena game, rather than using “MOBA” as its official genre label. Bandai Namco’s announcement gives the name, format, and planned platforms.
Ganbarion identifies itself as the developer, while Bandai Namco Entertainment is the publisher. Ganbarion’s June 10, 2025 developer announcement also confirms the title change and platform list.
When did Gekishin Squadra come out?
Bandai Namco’s June 2025 announcement listed the release as “2025 (Sched.),” so that date was a plan, not confirmation that the game had already launched. A later Bandai Namco Holdings corporate newsletter reports that service commenced on September 10, 2025. The date is attributed to the newsletter’s search-result extract; its PDF is available here.

What kind of game is it?
The publisher describes Gekishin Squadra as a battle arena game built around teamwork, with four players on each team. “MOBA” can serve as a shorthand for readers looking for a team-based arena game, but it is not the official description cited in the announcement. The sources cited here do not establish a player count, sales figure, or other measure of the game’s popularity.
