No—not in the sense of rewriting or replacing it. My Hero Academia Season 8 was officially designated the series’ final season, and its TV finale adapted manga chapter 430. A separate TV special adapts chapter 431, “More,” adding an epilogue set years later. That gives viewers more of the characters’ future, but official announcements describe it as additional story material—not a correction to the ending.
What Season 8 adapted
The official anime site announced Season 8 as the “FINAL SEASON” on December 22, 2024, with an autumn 2025 schedule. Its story was set to begin from manga Volume 40 and move toward the resolution of the battles involving Deku and Shigaraki, and armored All Might and All For One. Official anime announcement
Shueisha’s official books site also called the eighth season the “FINAL SEASON” and confirmed the planned autumn 2025 broadcast. Shueisha announcement

What chapter 431, “More,” adds
Chapter 431, titled “More,” is an additional chapter printed at the end of the final manga volume, Volume 42. The anime selected it for a separate TV special as part of the franchise’s tenth-anniversary project; it is not described as a rewrite of chapter 430. Official announcement about the special
The story moves eight years beyond the U.A. High School graduation and depicts Deku and his former Class 1-A classmates as pro heroes. It offers a later glimpse of their lives beyond the main finale. Official synopsis and broadcast details
The official site announced the special for May 2, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. Japan time on the Yomiuri TV/Nippon TV network, subject to regional coverage. That is the announced Japanese broadcast information; it does not establish where or when the special is available in other territories.
How to count the ending
| What you mean by “the ending” | What it includes |
|---|---|
| The Season 8 TV-series finale | Episode 170, adapting manga chapter 430. |
| The anime’s story after the finale | The separate special adapting chapter 431, “More,” with an eight-year-later epilogue. |
| The manga’s collected ending | Chapter 431, “More,” appears at the end of Volume 42. |
This distinction explains why a viewer may hear both that the series ends with chapter 430 and that the anime has more story afterward: chapter 430 concludes the serialized manga story adapted in the finale, while chapter 431 is additional epilogue material adapted separately.

Does “More” fix the ending?
“Fix” is a judgment about whether the extra material improves the conclusion for an individual reader or viewer. The official announcements establish that the special adds a future-set chapter; they do not say that the anime changed chapter 430, replaced the manga ending, or corrected a flaw. Whether the added glimpse feels satisfying is subjective, and the official sources cited here provide no audience survey or consensus measure.
If you want to read the chapter that the special adapts, look for My Hero Academia Volume 42, the final collected manga volume, which includes “More” at its end.
