For context, Box Office Mojo lists a domestic opening of $162,753,003 for the film. “Domestic” in that database refers to the U.S. and Canada, not the worldwide total, and database figures can be updated. Box Office Mojo’s film page also lists April 2, 2025 as its earliest release date in APAC/EMEA.

What is the film, and what comes next?
Box Office Mojo lists the film as a PG-rated, 1 hour 41 minute action, adventure, comedy, family and fantasy release, with Warner Bros. as its domestic distributor. The movie stars Jason Momoa and Jack Black, according to the AP’s October 2025 sequel report.
In that October report, AP said Warner Bros. planned a sequel for July 2027, with Jared Hess returning to direct and co-write. At the time, official plot and cast details had not been announced. A planned date is not a guarantee that the schedule will remain unchanged. AP’s sequel report describes what had been announced then.
