Stefanie was Steve Hawk’s sister. PEOPLE reported that she died in 2020 from ethanol poisoning. The cause and circumstances are attributed here to PEOPLE’s report; HGTV’s program listing does not independently confirm the personal account.
Why the store held more than work memories
The family’s goodbye was to Two Chicks District Co., Mina’s Indianapolis store, which had closed in late 2023. Mina described how its meaning had grown beyond its retail role: “It’s a lot more than just a store,” she said. “It’s all these memories and hopes and losses, tied into this one place that we’re now walking away from, and things are very different.”
