Where Khaos Reigns fits in Mortal Kombat 1
Khaos Reigns is an expansion for Mortal Kombat 1, not a standalone game. Warner Bros. Games announced it on July 26, 2024, as the next phase of the game’s story, alongside Kombat Pack 2’s six playable fighters. Ghostface, T-1000, and Conan the Barbarian were announced as post-launch additions, with one-week early access for expansion owners. Warner Bros. Games’ announcement.
Ghostface is one of Kombat Pack 2’s guest fighters. In a design article, NetherRealm Combat Designer Joe Epstein explained that Billy Loomis is the canonical Ghostface used in cinematic Fatal Blows and finishing moves. Epstein also discussed adapting the robe and mask for a fighting game and bringing back Roger L. Jackson’s voice. PlayStation Blog’s Ghostface character breakdown.
