Moonfall is Roland Emmerich’s 2022 science-fiction action film about the Moon being knocked out of orbit and sent toward Earth. Halle Berry, Patrick Wilson and John Bradley play the three people at the center of a mission to stop the impending catastrophe and uncover a secret about the Moon.
What is Moonfall about?
A mysterious force sends the Moon off its orbit and toward Earth. NASA executive and former astronaut Jo Fowler believes she has a way to save the planet, but she needs help from astronaut Brian Harper and K.C. Houseman, a conspiracy theorist. Their mission takes them toward a discovery about Earth’s natural satellite. That is the film’s central science-fiction premise, not a claim about real-world orbital mechanics.
