A topless scene featuring Moon Bloodgood and Sam Worthington was filmed for Terminator Salvation and then cut during editing. Director McG said it felt gratuitous and did not serve the story; Bloodgood said she was not campaigning to keep it, but did not want her sexuality treated as something to apologize for.
What was the scene?
In a May 21, 2009 interview with Gizmodo’s Meredith Woerner, conducted during Terminator Salvation press roundtables, Bloodgood described a brief moment in which her character cleans a wound, senses Sam Worthington’s character watching, and turns. She characterized it as a quick silhouette. The scene had been shot but did not appear in the finished film. Read the interview at Gizmodo.
Why did McG cut it?
McG said he had imagined a quiet moment inspired by Witness, but in the edit the scene seemed to him like a gratuitous topless beat in an action film rather than a useful part of the story. He put his reasoning this way: “The elements that would take it to R just ended up feeling gratuitous in the edit room.” That is McG’s explanation of his editing decision, not an objective verdict on the scene’s artistic merit.
What did Bloodgood say about the cut?
Bloodgood said she was not fighting to have the scene included. She nevertheless thought the moment was appropriate and beautiful, and objected to the idea that she should be apologetic about her sexuality. Her comments were about how the scene and her participation in it were being framed, not a claim that the film had to retain it.

Was the scene released on DVD or Blu-ray?
The 2009 Gizmodo article says McG suspected the scene might appear on DVD, but that was speculation at the time—not confirmation that it was released. A Dread Central review of Terminator: Salvation on DVD and Blu-ray discusses bonus features but does not establish that this particular deleted scene is included. The available evidence therefore does not verify its presence on any specific home-video edition.
