What happened in Cravalho’s TikTok?
Cravalho’s first TikTok featured her lip-syncing to an Eminem song. Teen Vogue’s June 21, 2021, retrospective looked back at the post one year after it appeared in 2020. In a later interview, Cravalho recalled putting it up spontaneously at 3 a.m. and said she had not expected it to trend.

The post drew a warm response. Cravalho joked to Teen Vogue, “The fans are only too happy to accept another gay.” That quip reflected the reaction online; it should not be mistaken for a complete account of her identity or her private process.
Was the video meant to be a formal coming-out announcement?
No. In the 2021 Teen Vogue interview, Cravalho said, “I wouldn’t think that it was necessary to come out.” She also said she had girlfriends in high school. The TikTok did not mark the beginning of her understanding of herself; later interviews make clear that she had understood herself as bisexual before posting it.

Her distinction matters: a public post can become a major moment for an audience without being a planned announcement for the person who made it. Cravalho’s experience does not set expectations for anyone else, whose circumstances and choices may be different.
How did Cravalho describe coming out later?
In an Autostraddle interview published April 25, 2022, Cravalho put the choice plainly: “Coming out, important, if it is important to you.” She also spoke about first coming out to herself. The comments add context to her 2021 remarks: she was not dismissing coming out, but emphasizing that its importance and timing belong to the individual.

How did her acting work connect to representation?
In 2022 interviews about Crush, Cravalho discussed playing AJ, a bisexual character in the queer teen romantic comedy. She valued that the story did not make coming out its central plot point. As she told Autostraddle, “But to also know that, you know, the day after you come out, you’re still living.” The observation points to a broader kind of representation: queer characters can have stories about relationships, daily life and growing up, not only disclosure.
Teen Vogue described Crush as available to stream on Hulu when its 2022 article was published. That dated note does not establish where the film is currently available.
